The „OTTO“ bangle is inspired by Otto Wagner’s city railway railing. The Viennese light rail system is still considered a work of art in its own right and is a major feature of the cityscape. Although the colour Resedagreen has become indispensable, the railings were painted light beige before the Second World War. My design is based on an idea that combines form and function in accordance with Otto Wagner’s motto: „Something impractical cannot be beautiful“.

Der Armreifen „OTTO“ ist von Otto Wagners Stadtbahngeländer inspiriert. Die Wiener Stadtbahn zählt bis heute als bautechnisches Gesamtkunstwerk und prägt das Stadtbild.Die unter Denkmalschutz stehende Anlage wird auch heute noch nach den originalen Gussformen hergestellt. Obwohl die Farbe Resedagrün nicht mehr wegzudenken ist waren die Geländer vor dem 2 Weltkrieg in hellbeige lackiert. Mein Design entsteht aus einem Gedankengut welches Form und Funktion kombiniert ganz nach dem Leitsatz von Otto Wagner: „Etwas Unpraktisches kann nicht schön sein“.
